Our Elite Dance Team competes at 4-5 regional competitions; 2 out of town and the rest in the Wichita Area. This team is for all competitive levels: Novice, Intermediate & Advanced. Dancers are required to compete in at least 1 group dance. Dancers can requests solos, duets & trios at Auditions.

Our STARZ TEAM is combined with our Elite Team in classes & Competition routines BUT only compete at 2 Wichita Competitions per season. This team is for all competitive levels: Novice, Intermediate & Advanced. STARZ Dancers must compete in no more than 2 group dances and can request a duet or trio at Auditions.
The Starz Team is not included in the Nationals Rotation as they only attend 2 competitions.

Our Mini Dance Team competes at 2 competitions a year; both in the Wichita area.
Nationals Rotation
Mini Team can request to be a part of the "Big Trip" year. Mini Team is not required to attend Nationals.

HDJ Dance Company Family Bonding
For Team Bonding, the Dance Company is split up into 4 Family Teams. These teams are lead by 2 staff members that organize bonding exercises & games that we call Family Meetings that are held once a month. These Family Teams then come together to compete in "Family Game Night" four times a season and compete for Family Points. The Family Team with the most points at the end of the season win the Family Cup!
Performance Opportunities
In addition to Dance Competitions, our Dance Company performs for other occasions. We perform at our Winter & Spring Recitals, Pre-Competition Showcase and will start performing at community events around the Wichita Area.
HDJS Intensive & Master Classes
Each season, we host an In-House Dance Intensive in August. This is open to all dancers in the Wichita Area, not just HDJS dancers! We bring in guest instructors for week full of master classes for all ages. Prices range from $100-$200 for the week of classes but we do have "drop-in" price options. Audition Information
2025-2026 Season Company Auditions will be Thursday, July 31st thru Saturday, August 2nd. Mandatory Parent Meeting on July 29th.
Audition Fee: $60/dancer or $100/family
